Asian Wildlife: Red Pandas

These pictures of red pandas were taken at the Valley Zoo in Edmonton. Meet Ralphie, Koko and Sha Lei. The Valley Zoo has a very good breeding pair of red pandas and they send their offspring to various other zoos around North America as part of the Species Survival Plan in hopes to raise the numbers of this endangered animal in captivity. Sha Lei is currently living in a zoo in the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, Wisconsin. These red pandas were hand raised and very friendly, so these red panda photos were quite easy to take as Ralphie and Sha Lei are quite friendly red pandas. Some of my favourite images are red panda pictures. They are very cute animals.

Sha Lei was about six months old when photographed. Just like a puppy, she enjoyed chewing on things.

This is Sha Lei in the deep snow. She just about go buried every time she tried running through the snow.
