North American K-9's: Foxes

This gallery is comprised of a red fox on the tundra in Wapusk National Park, wildlife red fox models in Minnesota, arctic foxes from the Valley Zoo and two wild red fox babies that I found near a den on the side of the highway in Ponoka, Alberta.

One of my clients told me about this fox den near Ponoka, so I drove down every Sunday for a month and waited and watched them. Sometimes they would show themselves and sometimes they wouldn't. In this photograph, they had both come out of different holes in the ground, one ran toward the other and they had a warm sibling greeting.

This little brown arctic fox kit was one of a litter of 14.

These fox kits siblings just emerged from their den and were enjoying a little play time.

This picture was taken on my first polar bear safari day in 2010. This little guy was the only animal that we saw on that first day.
